Origins
The Yorkshire Terrier (also named Yorkie) has its origins in England, in the region of Yorkshire. In the late 1800s, some Scottish people arrived in Yorkshire, looking for work; they brought with them various small terrier specimens. Later on, the breed was displayed at different dog shows.
