Talking about the relationship between humans and their dogs, one of the biggest goals to achieve should be a perfect mutual communication.

In order to begin this relationship, the owner should learn to understand his dog. After all, communicating means the use of a “language” that’s equally understood by both parts.

Before using this language, you must acknowledge that each dog is one of a kind: his personality is unique and fascinating. Some of them are stubborn and fairly hard to train, so communication will take another turn. Others will be lazy or too small to do demanding exercises, so you should understand that too.

After their uniqueness, you should consider that most dog breeds were trained to do specific jobs. These jobs could affect their behavior as familiar pets. Many breeds are familiarized with taking orders from humans; others are independent. Some breeds were specialized to use their sight power, others use their smell to hunt or discover items. Many are trained to respond for long periods of time and they should take long exercise sessions, others have breed bursts of activity and settle in fatigue rather fast.

Then ones that are trained to guard or to herd have a “stiff” behavior. They are somewhat obsessed at first, they might bite and they have a need to control the environment, no matter what. They could target small children or passing by objects or even retrieve items. Taking into account the various behaviors dog have, you should decide the things they would perform in the best.

Another thing to mention is the fact that many dog mixed breeds are often subjected to common errors. They are misunderstood, especially because of their behavior. The best advice is to get a more popular breed, one that is known for its cooperation or communication response. So, starting a communication with your dog should be fairly easy. Start with simple commands that are meant to help the dog understand your language better. Then, judging all the features your dog has, you can observe the problematic factors and the behavior of your dog, and you can take a decision upon it.

Only then, will you be able to start a proper training, exercises, use commands and stimulate your dog’s actions. And before all, you should stress in your mind the following phrase: “I can’t completely erase the instinctive behaviors some dog breeds have, but I can understand, control and change them”.
